Shop visit

The newly opened The Store, set on the ground and lower ground floors of private members’ club Soho House Berlin is a tranquil one-stop shop — open to members and non-members — where you can eat, play, relax and of course, shop.

The Store at Soho House Berlin

The sprawling store, over 2,800 sq metres is configured around an open-plan space with exposed concrete columns and floor-to-ceiling windows. Honey-coloured graphic rugs, Pierre Jeanneret chairs, tree stump stools by Andrianna Shamaris and black cowhide armchairs lend the modern space an inviting vibe.

Here you’ll find clothing from Balenciaga, Jil Sander, Proenza Schouler, Junya Watanabe, JW Anderson and local designers jostling with books from Idea Books and vinyl records from Phonica.

The staff may be painfully fashionable but that doesn’t mean service is disdainful. Shop assistants are jovial, helpful and happy to make suggestions.

At the back of the shop is Barber & Parlour, your pit stop for a quick fix treatment. They do everything from wet shaves and haircuts for men and mani, pedis and blow-dries for women.

The Store Kitchen at Soho House Berlin

To another side is The Store Kitchen, which serves fresh press juices, coffee, salads, pastries and all sorts of delightful goodies to lingerers. The décor is vaguely Mexican: green marble tables decorated with cactus pots and a counter strewn with potted plants and hanging planters brimming with herbs. For those after something a little less healthy, there’s also a Pizza East within the store. Just the ticket for a cheeky, mid-afternoon Margherita after a day of retail therapy.
